Palermo are waiting to hear whether new Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is going to give the green light for the Blues’ bid for Javier Pastore.

The Argentine striking sensation has long been a target for Chelsea, with the English side reported to have made several enquiries about the 21-year-old in the last 12 months. Serie A outfit Juventus too have been linked with a swoop.

However, with Pastore now available – but just for the right price – Chelsea need new boss Villas-Boas to make a decision over whether to launch a bid or not.

And as much has been confirmed by Palermo’s president Maurizio Zamparini.

"Pastore is phenomenal and three or four clubs are interested.

"Chelsea is one of them, but we must wait and see what their new coach Villas-Boas wants.

The same goes for Juventus, although they seem less interested than the English."
