Santos striker Neymar has been advised to choose a move to Barcelona ahead of anywhere else by his club coach Muricy Ramalho, with a warning that joining Real Madrid and playing under Jose Mourinho would see the 19-year-old end up like the badly out of form Kaka.

Five clubs have met Neymar’s €45M release clause and are now opening talks with the Brazilian wonderkid, Barcelona and Real Madrid amongst them.

Ramalho meanwhile, who was the Brazilian Football Association’s first choice as national team coach ahead of Mano Menezes, has advised Neymar that he should do whatever he can to get to the Camp Nou.

The striker should "go to Barcelona", commented Ramalho when asked for his opinion.

"[Jose] Mourinho likes the tactical work, and does not let them play the opponent.

"I do not know if Neymar would have sufficient freedom at Real. I’m afraid he could end up like Kaka."

And Ramalho is in no doubt over where Neymar should head.

"Neymar is good, a player who improvises and does the unpredictable. If he leaves he should choose Barcelona. Imagine [Lionel] Messi and Neymar together."
