Racing Santander have reached an agreement with Argentine Hector Cuper to become the club’s new coach.
La Liga outfit Racing are determined to stay out of relegation trouble next season and kick up the table – Cuper has been identified as the man to make that a reality.
The coach is well versed in Spanish football, having bossed Mallorca, Valencia and Betis.
Cuper was praised for laying the foundations at Valencia, helping his successor Rafael Benitez to take the side to two La Liga titles and a UEFA Cup before the Spaniard exited for Liverpool.
The 55-year-old was most recently in charge of Greek Super League side Aris.
