Cesc Fabregas is crossing his fingers that a deal can be agreed between Arsenal and Barcelona swiftly so as to avoid a repeat of last summer’s transfer saga.

The Spaniard is currently in Ibiza on holiday with his family, but remains up to speed on the negotiations continuing over his future.

Reports from Catalunya indicate that Barcelona’s latest offer for Fabregas is £35M, an amount that Arsenal are considering.

The Gunners though are still aiming to realise a fee of £40M for the Spanish midfielder, with Arsene Wenger well aware of the importance Barcelona have placed on signing Fabregas this summer.

The European Champions for their part believe that adding Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez from Udinese would represent a good window of business.

Fabregas now is left playing the waiting game, with the Spanish schemer keen for a deal to be completed before he is compelled to return to Arsenal for pre-season training.
