Roma coach Luis Enrique is eyeing up a move for Real Madrid’s out-of-favour attacking midfielder Sergio Canales.
There is every chance the 20-year-old will be allowed to leave the Bernabeu, but only on loan, with Real Madrid still recognising his considerable potential.
The Giallorossi would be keen to insert a permanent transfer clause, although how Los Blancos would react to that proposition is unclear.
Roma also face opposition from Wolfsburg and Schalke, with both Bundesliga sides ready to offer Canales a bout of first team football next season.
Luis Enrique is setting about adding youth to his Roma side, with Bojan Krkic’s move from Barcelona ready to be rubber-stamped.
Krkic should cost Roma €12M, but Barcelona have insisted a buy-back clause be inserted into the deal.
