Dutch coach Aron Winter has pulled off a double transfer coup by tempting striker Danny Koevermans and midfielder Torsten Frings to Toronto FC.

32-year-old hitman Koevermans has signed a two and a half year deal with the MLS club and was a free agent after leaving PSV Eindhoven. There was significant interest in his services, but Winter won the day.

"I am very happy with this change", said Koevermans.

"I was received at the club in a great way and I hope I can make a big contribution this season."

German midfielder Frings has also signed for two and a half years with the Canadian club.

Frings most recently turned out for Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.
