Manchester City have completed the signing of French full back Gael Clichy from Arsenal for a fee believed to be in the region of £7M.
Clichy had just one year remaining on his contract at the Emirates and was keen for a change of scenery – something City were more than happy to provide.
"I’m really happy to be joining such a great club", said the 25-year-old.
"I hope I can add to the quality we already have here because we have a fantastic squad.
"I can’t wait to get started and I think anything is possible with this team."
The Frenchman becomes Roberto Mancini’s first signing of the summer for City, but his exit could be the start of an exodus from the Emirates with Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Andrei Arshavin, Nicklas Bendtner and Robin van Persie all linked with moves away from Arsenal.
