Brazilian full back Maicon has added fuel to the fire of speculation about his future by confirming it will be up for discussion after the Copa America.

The 29-year-old is currently helping Brazil in their bid to retain their continental championship in Argentina, but talk about a possible move to Real Madrid has continued unabated.

Maicon was the subject of fierce interest from the Spanish giants last summer before he eventually remained with the Nerazzurri. Nevertheless, the flying full back remains keen to once again work with former Inter boss Jose Mourinho.

"I’m happy in Milan", said Maicon when questioned about his future, before adding: "but we will talk about Real Madrid and Inter after the Copa America."

Maicon is thought to have once again been identified by Mourinho as the one full back who can compete with Barcelona’s Dani Alves. Indeed, the two Brazilians appear to be battling amongst themselves for the title of best right back in world football.

Inter remain keen to keep Maicon though and will no doubt resist any Real Madrid bids.
