20-year-old defender Stefan Savic has expressed his delight at signing for Manchester City.

The Montenegro international passed a medical at Eastlands yesterday and put the finishing touches to his switch from Partizan Belgrade.

Tipped as a future defensive star, Savic had attracted interest from Liverpool, while the stopper also spent time on trial at Arsenal last year.

"I watch the Premier League all the time and I know it’s the place to be, so I am looking forward to helping this club to achieve great things", said the youngster.

"We have an incredible stadium and I’ve seen how passionate the City fans are many times on TV.

"It’s a dream come true and I’m especially looking forward to meeting Edin Dzeko and Aleksandr Kolarov, because they both speak my language and come from the Balkans too."

Savic has signed a four-year deal with City.
