The race for Lyon left back-cum-left winger Michel Bastos is heating up, with his agent promising more will be known about his potential destination by the end of this week.
Juventus have long been favourites for the Brazilian’s signature, with Bastos himself willing to head to Turin despite a lack of Champions League football for next season.
However, the Bianconeri have not been able to agree a fee with Lyon, who are looking for around €15M for the 27-year-old. And there remains the possibility that clubs such as Chelsea, Inter, Barcelona, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur could yet become involved.
"Juve are still in the race, as are the other teams interested in him", said Bastos’ agent Emmanuel De Kerchove.
De Kerchove was then asked about talk that Chelsea, Inter, Barcelona, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race for his client.
"All of them are big clubs and, indeed, two of them called me to find out if the player would be interested and to possibly speak to him about their project.
"But these have been preliminary talks, nothing concrete.
"I repeat, by the end of next week we should know more."
