Italian champions AC Milan are revisiting the possibility of signing Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The Rossoneri are desperate to add a creative midfielder to their ranks and have been linked with moves for Santos’ Ganso, Palermo’s Javier Pastore and Napoli’s Marek Hamsik. However, all three look beyond Milan’s advances at present.

As such, Corriere dello Sport report that the Italians are dusting off old plans to snap up Schweinsteiger, if a deal can be done for the Germany international.

Milan are well aware that Bayern would like to keep hold of the 26-year-old, but the feeling at the San Siro is that a bid of between €20M and €25M plus midfielder Mathieu Flamini, might just tempt the Germans to the negotiating table.

Schweinsteiger has in the past stated his desire to experience another league and country at some point in his career. A switch to Serie A and AC Milan therefore could appeal, if his club were willing to consider his sale.
