Inter have confirmed that Wesley Sneijder is not for sale despite continuing speculation over a move to Manchester United.
Talk over a transfer to Old Trafford has intensified in recent days, with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believed to be keen on the idea of adding Sneijder to his side. Indeed, the former Real Madrid man is viewed as the perfect replacement for the now-retired Paul Scholes.
But according to Inter technical director Marco Branca, the Nerazzurri are not considering selling Sneijder.
Asked at the presentation of new signings Luc Castaignos and Ricardo Alvarez to confirm Sneijder is not for sale, Branca replied: "Yes, I can confirm that."
And Branca said that despite knowing full well that the Dutch midfielder was being tracked by other clubs, Inter have not received, and do not want to receive, an offer.
"We know that he is a player who is appreciated by several clubs", said the Inter man, "but until this moment we have not received an official offer, and we don’t want to receive one.
"He is with us, then we know how to work best in this transfer window.
"What is for sure is that we have no meeting arranged."
