Juventus are thought to be pondering a bid for Barcelona midfielder Ibrahim Afellay.

The Dutchman only moved to the Camp Nou in January, but as expected has struggled to force his way into Josep Guardiola’s starting eleven.

And while there is no suggestion the former PSV Eindhoven star is thinking of quitting the European Champions so soon after arriving, Juventus believe Barcelona may be open to selling.

The Bianconeri look likely to lose out in the race for Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero, with the player preferring to remain in La Liga or head to England, rather than move to Serie A.

Juventus need to announce a number of new signings however, as the club aim to reclaim a spot in Serie A’s top four.

Afellay therefore could be an option, with the Italians having added his name to their list of potential targets.
