Manchester City have agreed terms with Corinthians over the transfer of Carlos Tevez, manager Roberto Mancini has revealed.

Corinthians had offered €40M for the Argentine striker, but that was quickly refused, with City sticking to an asking price of £50M.

The Brazilians were not deterred however, and returned to the negotiating table with a €44M offer.

And City have relented, with Tevez desperate to move back to South America to be closer to his daughters who live in his native Argentina.

"We have an agreement with Corinthians", Mancini told Sky Sports News, "but Carlos now is still a City player."

The Italian boss was also asked whether Tevez is now discussing personal terms over the move, but could not answer the question, simply confirming that no deal has officially gone through yet.

"I don’t know this. I repeat, at the moment, Carlos is still a City player."
