Galatasaray has emerged as a potential destination for out-of-favour Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo according to reports from Italy.

Melo has not enjoyed the best of times with the Bianconeri and is set to be moved on after a disapppointing 2010/11 campaign.

Indeed Juventus, who want to sell the Brazilian to bring in cash to help towards new signings, have seen the former Fiorentina man linked with several clubs across the world, from Borussia Dortmund in Germany to Corinthians in his native country.

But according to Gazzetta dello Sport, it could well be Istanbul giants Galatasaray who stump up an official bid for Melo first, with the Turkish club said to be considering meeting Juventus’ €10M asking price.

Galatasaray are set on challenging for next season’s Super Lig title after a truly terrible last 12 months. Cim Bom were often closer to the relegation battle than the title race and this is a state of affairs the entire club is determined should never happen again.

Melo’s attitude towards a switch to Turkey though remains unknown, with the midfielder keenest on a return to Spain.
