Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has slammed reports that he is interested in a move away from Los Blancos, with most recently Arsenal identified as a possible destination for the Frenchman.

Benzema, who has worked hard on his game at the Bernabeu to convince coach Jose Mourinho that he is worthy of a spot in Real Madrid’s starting eleven, has denied declaring an interest in moving to any club.

Asked about talk that he was interested in a move elsewhere, Benzema blasted: "I have not said that to anyone.

"I am in Madrid and I want to succeed here."

Mourinho looks set to grant Benzema his wish by holding onto the former Lyon striker for the upcoming 2011/12 campaign.

And while Arsenal has continually been mooted as a possible destination should Benzema choose to leave Los Blancos, the Gunners have concentrated their attention elsewhere, and recently completed the capture of Ivory Coast forward Gervinho from Lille.
