Young Japanese midfielder Takashi Usami has declared his delight at landing at Bayern Munich.

The 19-year-old starlet, who has been compared with both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, has moved to the Allianz Arena on loan from J.League outfit Gamba Osaka, and it is a deal which could become permanent if Usami impresses.

"For me this is an attempt to play in Europe at the highest level", explained Usami.

"I want to play as much as possible and score goals."

Bayern are hoping to emulate Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund by picking up a gem from Japan.

The Ruhr giants swooped for then-little-known Shinji Kagawa last summer, paying just €350,000 for the midfielder: Kagawa has since established himself as one of the most promising young midfielders in world football.

And Usami has already stated his willingness to follow the example of "my good friend" Kagawa, promising "I will do my best."
