Barcelona midfielder Xavi has expressed his optimism that Arsenal will agree to sell Cesc Fabregas to the Catalan giants.
Talks are currently under way between the two clubs, although Arsene Wenger remains hopeful that his captain can be persuaded to stay at the Emirates and once again a potential move to the Camp Nou can be blocked.
But Xavi, the midfield schemer Fabregas is seen as the long term replacement for at Barcelona, believes that there is a good chance of the 24-year-old heading back to La Liga this summer – a much better chance than in previous seasons.
"It seems to me that this year Arsenal are more willing to sell", said Xavi when questioned about Fabregas, "so I am optimistic about the arrival of Fabregas.
"All however depends on the agreement that Barcelona and Arsenal reach, because at the moment Fabregas is a player under contract with Arsenal."
The Catalans remain hopeful of concluding the transfer of Fabregas quickly, but are well aware that Wenger is attempting to persuade the Spaniard to snub a move to La Liga.
