The agent of Argentine midfielder Lucho Gonzalez has revealed that there are four clubs in for his client as the race for the Marseille man picks up pace.

Gonzalez has been tipped to move away from the Stade Velodrome this summer, although his potential destination has remained unclear throughout the summer.

And despite the 30-year-old’s agent confirming four clubs are well along the path to buying his client, Gonzalez’ destination will remain secret a little longer.

"We are in contact with two English clubs and one of the two plays in the European Cup", said Federico Simonian when questioned about the future of Gonzalez.

"As for Italy, it’s exactly the same situation, with two clubs, one of which has not qualified for the European Cup.

"Lucho wishes to join a good club in a beautiful city, one that guarantees progress."

The Argentine midfielder cost Marseille a substantial €18M to buy from FC Porto in 2009 and is rated as a highly talented attacking midfielder, capable of chipping in a number of important goals.
