Alberto Aquilani is set to remain at Liverpool next season according to his agent Franco Zavaglia.

The Italian international midfielder spent the last campaign on loan at Juventus, but the Bianconeri baulked at Liverpool’s €16M demand to make the move permanent, despite having agreed that figure would be needed at the time of the loan the previous summer.

Other Serie A clubs have been linked with the midfielder, but the latest, Fiorentina, appear to have been priced out and are unable to afford Aquilani’s wages, with Zavaglia himself dubbing a move to La Viola "impractical" for his client.

Now it seems the former Roma man is all set to remain at Anfield.

"Alberto has recovered from the problem with his ankle", Zavaglia told Radio Mana Mana.

"He is training with Liverpool and he has done well in recent friendlies.

"He will remain for sure."
