Paris Saint-Germain are pushing ahead with their move for Queens Park Rangers’ midfielder Adel Taarabt and hope to conclude a deal swiftly.

Taarabt himself confirmed what was the worst kept secret in France yesterday when he informed English broadcaster BBC of the fact that talks between himself and PSG were ongoing.

The 22-year-old is highly rated at the Parc des Princes, particularly by new sporting director Leonardo, and a move to the French capital appeals to the former Lens youth team player.

"We’re talking with Paris Saint-Germain, but nothing is done", said Taarabt.

"We’re very close, but if no deal is reached then I will play for QPR in the Premier League."

Taarabt could be just the first in a series of big money arrivals at PSG, with the French side believed to have a summer transfer kitty of €100M.
