Lionel Messi has welcomed the arrival of Alexis Sanchez at Barcelona, dubbing the Chilean a "big boost" for the European Champions.
Sanchez finally completed his move to the Camp Nou last week, with the Catalan giants seeing off substantial interest from Manchester City in the 22-year-old.
In the end it was Sanchez’ desire to move to Barcelona which won the day and Messi could not be happier.
"Alexis Sanchez is a big boost for Barcelona", said Messi.
"For his qualities, I think he will adapt well and become part of the group."
The Argentine also revealed he had kept a close eye on Sanchez throughout the 2011 Copa America and what he saw further convinced him the Chilean is "a great player."
