Paris Saint-Germain are set to provide Chelsea with opposition for Palermo star Javier Pastore.

The Argentine midfielder has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge and discussions between the Blues and Palermo are thought to be at an advanced stage, with the Serie A side’s president Maurizio Zamparini dubbing a move to Chelsea "very likely."

However, PSG are providing the opposition to Chelsea, with money no object for the French club and new sporting director Leonardo ready to make a splash in the summer transfer market.

Speaking openly about Pastore to Sky Sport 24, Zamparini confirmed that a move to Chelsea was "very likely."

The Italian was also asked which clubs were interested in Pastore and replied: "Paris SG and Chelsea and there is perhaps something in Spain, but it depends on movement at Real Madrid."

Pastore would cost a fee of between €40M and €50M for any interested party.
