Alberto Aquilani’s agent Franco Zavaglia is due to meet with officials from Liverpool today in an effort to push the midfielder’s proposed move to Fiorentina through.

La Viola want the former Roma man on loan for the whole of next season with an option to buy at the price of €10M following the conclusion of the 2011/12 campaign.

And while that is a proposal to which Liverpool may well agree, the English giants are keen to see whether a permanent deal can be done for Aquilani at once, with the feeling at Anfield that Fiorentina are already well aware of the player’s qualities.

Aquilani currently earns around £4M per season and is under contract with Liverpool for the next two years.

For Fiorentina these wages are too high, although La Viola feel ready to pay a similar amount, but over a three year period.

Although the Italian, who spent last season on loan with Juventus, is still tipped to end up in Florence, the situation could take some time to unravel as Zavaglia tries to negotiate the best move for his client.
