The future of highly rated Colombian defensive midfielder Carlos Sanchez should move closer towards being resolved this week.

Sanchez is a target for Greek giants Olympiacos, but the Super League champions have had trouble agreeing a fee with the player’s current club Valenciennes.

The 25-year-old is rated at €5M by the Ligue 1 club, who feel vindicated in their stance given Sanchez’ superb performances in the 2011 Copa America with Colombia, but Olympiacos look prepared to pay just €3M.

Sanchez is due to meet Valenciennes president Francis Decourriere tomorrow for talks over his future and the feeling is that the 25-year-old’s situation should become much clearer.

The Colombian international is under contract at the Stade Nungesser until 2012, placing Valenciennes in a delicate position.

Several other sides are known to be keeping tabs on Sanchez and the Colombian could yet prove to be at the centre of an interesting summer transfer saga.
