AC Milan are still hoping to sign a world class player before the summer transfer window slams shut.

Clubs have just over one month to line up and complete their remaining deals and attention at the Rossoneri is being focused on the acquisition of a top notch midfielder.

Several names have been linked, the most recent being Bayern Munich man Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Milan are expected to bid for Schweinsteiger, though sporting director Ariedo Braida would only confirm that his side wanted a world class addition.

"In the past there’s always been some suspense hanging round our club in the last days of the transfer market", Braida told Sky Sport.

"We hope to be able to strike again this year, though the team is already competitive."

Time is running out for the Rossoneri to negotiate what would undoubtedly be a complex deal.
