Alberto Aquilani’s agent has admitted his client is still hoping to head to Fiorentina on a permanent basis.

The Italian’s future has developed into a six-month transfer saga, with Juventus, where the Liverpool man spent last season on loan, negotiating and then opting against signing Aquilani on a permanent deal.

AC Milan were also mooted, but the Rossoneri have yet to move, while a deal with Fiorentina for a loan and option for a permanent deal appeared all but done, however that too has not materialised, with Liverpool reluctant to loan out the midfielder once again and La Viola concerned about the player’s wages.

But according to Aquilani’s agent Franco Zavaglia, his client has not given up on a move to Fiorentina, but, like Liverpool, is desperate for it to be on a permanent basis rather than a loan.

"It remains possible", said Zavaglia about Aquilani’s proposed switch to Fiorentina, "the deal is not at risk."

The agent admitted though he does not know how to present the deal to Liverpool.

"I don’t know what to say in England, but he wants a transfer on a permanent basis."
