Jose Mourinho has once again underlined that Karim Benzema will not be leaving Real Madrid this summer.
Speculation has swirled around the Frenchman, but Benzema has worked hard during pre-season and, combined with a much improved series of performances towards the end of last season, convinced Mourinho that he can place his trust in the striker’s boots.
Thus Mourinho has been at pains to emphasise that the former Lyon man will not go anywhere.
"There’s no chance that Benzema will leave", said Mourinho when questioned on the subject once again.
The Portuguese however is still set on adding another striker, with a deal all but complete for Santos wonderkid Neymar.
The only question mark lies over when Neymar will join. Mourinho has pleaded with the 19-year-old to land this summer, but the Brazilian wants to compete in the Club World Cup.
And Santos President Alvaro Luis de Oliveira Ribeiro confirmed as much, commenting: "The idea is for him to stay with us until December."
