Fernando Gago’s agent has begun to push the prospect of a move to Inter for his client, explaining they are his favourite club.

The Argentine midfielder is surplus to requirements at current club Real Madrid and has been linked with several sides throughout the summer transfer window.

But Gago is still at the Bernabeu and his agent is working hard to try and secure the talented midfielder a move that would see him enjoy more first team football in the 2011/12 campaign.

"Gago is a top player", Simone Piccotti told Catalan daily Sport, "and I think he would be perfect for Inter.

"He would feel as if he were at home there as there are so many Argentines.

"He just came back from the Copa America but is ready to get back on the pitch.

"Let’s see what will happen with Inter, but it’s clear that we are talking about his favourite club, he would really like to play there."
