Juventus are believed to be discussing a move for Hamburg winger Eljero Elia with the player’s Bundesliga club.
According to Tuttosport, the Bianconeri have taken a keen interest in the speedy Dutchman and believe he would represent a suitable alternative to Lyon’s Michel Bastos.
The Italian giants have been trying to close a deal for Bastos for most of the summer, but despite the Brazilian wishing to move to Turin, have not seen their efforts meet with success.
Therefore Elia could be a perfect alternative.
The tricky Holland star was close to moving to Liverpool in January, but the move was vetoed by Hamburg who quickly expressed their wish to keep the 24-year-old.
Now though Juventus are confident that a bid of around €8M would be enough to tempt the northern German side into selling the Dutchman.
So close to the start of the new Bundesliga season however and with the transfer window open until the end of the month, Hamburg will have little time to target a replacement.
