Tottenham Hotspur target Ibrahim Afellay will not quit Barcelona this summer according to his agent.

Spurs’ boss Harry Redknapp had taken a liking to the former PSV Eindhoven star, who has struggled to establish himself at the European Champions since landing in January.

But Afellay is not thinking of bringing his Spanish adventure to an end and wants to earn a spot in one of the greatest club sides to have ever played the game.

Questioned on his client’s future by Calcio Mercato given Afellay’s limited game time at the Camp Nou, the player’s agent Rob Jansen was clear that there is "no doubt" over his remaining with Barcelona.

"My insurance can be given that he will remain in Spain", said Jansen.

"He is happy at Barcelona and he won’t leave the club."

The Dutchman managed to feature 16 times for Barcelona in La Liga last season and on seven occasions in Europe.

However, the potential arrival of Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal has been a concern and could see another route to the starting eleven blocked.
