Anderlecht have confirmed that they are negotiating with Chelsea over the transfer of striker Romelu Lukaku. However, the Belgian giants are also keen to see if Lukaku can spend at least six months on loan with the club if he is sold.

Talks over Lukaku’s proposed move to Stamford Bridge are continuing, with Chelsea needing to find a minimum of €20M to ensure the deal goes through. The player’s representatives will be due €5M of any fee, meaning Anderlecht have set a target of realising at least €15M from the striker’s sale.

"There is certainly no agreement", Anderlecht General Manager Herman Van Holsbeeck confirmed after meeting Blues officials in London, "and it depends mostly on them if there is a breakthrough."

Van Holsbeeck did comment though that "the transfer will be completed soon", pointing out that: "If a club like Chelsea want a player then it usually gets him."

However, Anderlecht President Roger Vanden Stock is dreaming of pairing Lukaku up with Milan Jovanovic, the Serbian forward who was recently signed from Liverpool.

And to this end, Anderlecht will try to see if Lukaku can be loaned back to them at once upon the completion of a move to Chelsea.

"It is the dream of our president to see Lukaku-Jovanovic", said Van Holsbeeck, before adding that the club still needed "to be realistic".

Van Holsbeeck then floated the loan idea.

"I don’t know if it would be possible, but if sold to Chelsea, Anderlecht would try to get Lukaku for another six months, on loan. That’s another idea."
