Jose Mourinho has declared that he wants just a squad of 20 players at his disposal, and dismissed rumours that he is not happy with his current group.

While Real Madrid and Mourinho are keen on Santos forward Neymar, other arrivals are not expected at the Bernabeu this summer unless the Portuguese rethinks his plans or has a change of heart.

"I am tired of reading that Mourinho wants the players", said the Real Madrid boss.

"I am satisfied with my team and I want a group of 20 players, no more than that.

"A group that makes everyone feel more compact and part of the project and to also give more opportunities to young players."

Mourinho is set for a make or break season at the Bernabeu after being handed more control over transfers by the club’s president Florentino Perez.

Indeed, Mourinho insisted on a more English style management structure and, should he fail to topple Barcelona in La Liga, will have few excuses to fall back on.
