Barcelona are growing increasingly confident that they can complete the signing of Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal by the weekend.
While negotiations got stuck over Arsenal’s insistence that the European Champions needed to offer a straight cash deal and no add-ons, the Blaugrana now look to have relented.
And so, Barcelona’s bid of €29M plus a further €6M in add-ons, will be converted into a straight cash offer of €35M.
This is still short of Arsenal’s demand of more than €40M, but Barcelona are hopeful that the Gunners will accept the new proposal.
In a sign of how confident the Camp Nou giants are over Fabregas, Barcelona are also holding back the number 4 shirt for the Spanish international.
The target now is for Fabregas to take part in at least one of the two legs of the Spanish Super Cup before kicking off La Liga with the Blaugrana.
