Alberto Aquilani has been thinking over whether he should remain with Liverpool for this season, but cannot dismiss a move to AC Milan according to his agent.
The Italian’s future is still up in the air with no chance of a move to Juventus, the club with which he spent last season on loan, a switch to Fiorentina looking dead over his wage demands, and AC Milan yet to work to push through a move.
And so it is looking certain that Aquilani will start the season with Liverpool, despite the Reds having brought in several midfielders this summer.
"Alberto has been looking at whether he could stay at Liverpool", the player’s agent Franco Zavaglia told Radio Sportiva, claiming that: "It would not be a big problem for him."
Zavaglia did confirm though that a switch to Milan, where Aquilani has been held up in some quarters as the mythical "Mister X" that the Rossoneri will add before the season, is indeed still possible.
"To go to AC Milan could still be an option", said the midfielder’s agent.
With the clock ticking down to the end of the transfer window there promises to be a greater sense of urgency to resolve Aquilani’s future, but a continued stay at Anfield now no longer looks as impossible as had been the case at the start of the summer.
