Anzhi Makhachkala are hoping to add another Brazilian to their squad with a move for midfielder Elano, although the player is disposed to remaining with Santos.
The 30-year-old joined Santos at the end of 2010, switching from Turkish giants Galatasaray.
But the former Manchester City man’s stay in his homeland could be a short one if he chooses to accept an attractive offer on the table from Anzhi.
And with a Brazilian presence already at the Russian club in the form of the legendary Roberto Carlos and striker Diego Tardelli, the decision looked a tough one.
Elano however is leaning towards remaining with Santos and snubbing the proposed move to Russia.
"I’ve received an offer from Anzhi", Elano confirmed.
"I’ve got three to four days to decide, but I will not accept it because I’m happy at Santos."
