FC Porto have been told they have work to do if they want to complete a double swoop on Standard Liege.

Defender Eliaquim Mangala and midfielder Steven Defour are the Portuguese side’s targets, but while Standard are not too far off being satisfied with the offer on the table for Mangala, they are not pleased with Porto’s bid for Defour.

The midfielder was close to moving to Lokomotiv Moscow in a deal which would have been financially rewarding for Standard, but Defour pulled the plug on the move, deciding he was unwilling to head to Russia.

And the €4M bid on the table from Porto for the Belgian is not up to that which would have been received from Lokomotiv Moscow, leaving Standard displeased.

The Portuguese side are prepared to pay €6.5M for Mangala and have offered the player a lucrative contract which far outstrips his current terms in Liege -Mangala therefore is keen to go.

It remains unclear whether Porto will up their bid for Defour or settle for just being able to take Mangala to Portugal.
