Real Madrid are hoping to ship out Lassana Diarra, Fernando Gago and Pedro Leon before the transfer window closes.
However, Los Blancos are starring at having to shift from their original demands if they wish to offload the trio.
Diarra is interesting Tottenham Hotspur, while Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray have also been linked with a move. The sticking point though is Real Madrid’s demands for the Frenchman.
The Spanish giants had set Diarra’s asking price at €20M, but with no side willing to come close to this, have dropped it over the last week to €18M. Still though Tottenham Hotspur, the most interested of Diarra’s suitors, have not offered this amount.
Spurs look likely to bide their time until the end of the transfer window, well aware that Diarra could become available for much less as the clock counts down.
Argentine midfielder Gago is clearly surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu, but so far no concrete bid has been received. Boca Juniors would like to take Gago back to Argentina, but can offer just €1M – nowhere near enough for Real Madrid.
Los Blancos have considered offering Gago in part-exchange for Manchester City’s Emmanuel Adebayor, but the Citizens have no need of the player with their plans to sign Samir Nasri from Arsenal well advanced.
Pedro Leon looks likely to exit Real Madrid either on loan, or in a permanent move with a buy-back clause. A number of English sides including Everton are interested, although none have yet to make a concrete move.
