Villarreal President Fernando Roig has slammed the door in the face of interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus, declaring that neither side have any hope of signing Yellow Submarine striker Giuseppe Rossi.
Both Spurs and Juventus have been heavily linked with moves for Rossi, with the Italian seeming set to move on from Villarreal all summer.
But the striker has remained with the Yellow Submarine and, with Santi Cazorla having been sold to Malaga, the Spanish side are not ready to contemplate Rossi’s exit too in the same transfer window.
"Rossi is not for sale", said Roig, proceeding to play down talk in the English and Italian press, "despite what they sale in Italy and England.
"I’ve said it many times before and I’ll just repeat it."
The 24-year-old is being counted on by Villarreal to spearhead their challenge in the 2011/12 La Liga season and, barring a big money bid which the Yellow Submarine simply cannot resist, looks likely to remain at El Madrigal.
