Arsenal’s interest in Brazilian midfield schemer Jadson has been confirmed Shakhtar Donetsk coach Mircea Lucescu.
Jadson has been mooted as a replacement for the outgoing Cesc Fabregas and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was known to have been impressed with the 27-year-old when his side met Shakhtar in the group stage of last season’s Champions League.
And it did not take long after Arsenal’s acceptance of Fabregas’ departure for Jadson to emerge as a target; the potential loss of Samir Nasri to Manchester City has only speeded Wenger’s urgent search for new midfield talent.
"I can confirm that Jadson is wanted by Arsenal", said Shakhtar coach Lucescu.
"Now it all depends on him", added the Romanian boss, confirming that if the Brazilian is desperate to move to the Emirates then little will stop him.
Lucescu has a number of Brazilian starlets ready to take Jadson’s place, including the highly rated Douglas Costa.
