Juventus are feeling confident of winning the race for Chelsea defender Alex.

The Brazilian stopper has been linked with several clubs throughout the summer transfer window, including German giants Bayern Munich. Indeed, the Allianz Arena outfit are continuing to keep an eye on Alex’s situation, despite signing Jerome Boateng from Manchester City.

Alex is expected to welcome a move away from Stamford Bridge as he searches for regular first team football.

For Juventus the former PSV Eindhoven centre back would help to address concerns about the side’s defensive prowess as new coach Antonio Conte prepares to bet on an attacking formation to help the Bianconeri secure a Champions League spot.

The 29-year-old Brazilian joined Chelsea in 2007 after three years with Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven. He made just 12 Premier League appearances last season, four less than the 2009/10 campaign.
