Turkish giants Galatasaray will make a late bid for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba this summer once they have offloaded Czech forward Milan Baros.

The former Liverpool man is a big earner at the Turk Telekom Arena and his three-year spell in Istanbul looks to be coming to an end.

Baros is interesting Bundesliga giants Schalke and Russian duo Zenit St. Petersburg and Dynamo Moscow.

Zenit have already had a bid of €6M for Baros rejected by Galatasaray, who have set an asking price of €7.5M for the 29-year-old.

When Baros has been sold, Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim is set to try for Drogba, though the former Turkey boss is well aware that the odds of taking the Ivory Coast striker to Istanbul are slim.

Nevertheless, armed with money from the sale of Baros and with space on the wage bill, Drogba will be Terim’s first target as he seeks to make a big splash before the end of the summer transfer window.

Galatasaray are desperate to reclaim the Super Lig title from bitter rivals Fenerbahce this season and Terim is set on building a team to do just that.
