The subject of a bid from Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer and recently believed to be on Napoli’s shopping list, Palermo striker Abel Hernandez is a man in demand.

But Palermo are determined to ensure that the Uruguayan forward remains at the Stadio Renzo Barbera and have continued to send out signals that the 21-year-old is simply not for sale.

Questioned about talk in Italy that Hernandez was heading to Napoli, Palermo’s vice-president Guglielmo Micciche told Radio Kiss Kiss that the story was "False."

He also added that the Uruguay international was not available.

"As far as I am concerned, Abel is not for sale.

"He is one of our best players and he has great potential."

Having lost Javier Pastore this summer to Paris Saint-Germain, Palermo have set their sights on keeping the highly rated Hernandez.
