Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger looks set to return to Rennes with an improved offer for Yann M’Vila.

Sources in France confirmed that the Breton club rejected an initial bid from Wenger for the midfield enforcer, but the Gunners boss is expected to try his luck once again.

Rennes expect Arsenal’s next offer to be more tempting in its terms as the Ligue 1 club become certain that Wenger will push the boat out to sign M’Vila.

The French side do not want to lose the 21-year-old at this stage of the transfer window, believing that replacing such a talent with just days to go before the summer market ends would be impossible.

However, should Wenger send a much improved offer to Rennes, then the Ligue 1 side will study it carefully.

M’Vila himself has not pushed for a move, remaining of the mind that his career path must be handled carefully. Indeed, the France international is in no rush to leave Rennes and will only do so when he is certain that the proposed next step is the right one.
