Anthony Annan, the Ghana international dubbed the "new Michael Essien" has ended his brief Bundesliga sojourn by moving from Schalke to Eredivisie side Vitesse.
The 25-year-old only landed at the Ruhr giants in January, being snapped up from Norwegian side Rosenborg.
However, things have not gone according to plan at Schalke for Annan, and the German side were only too willing to loan the midfielder out.
Under contract until 2014 with Schalke, Annan will spend a year on loan with Vitesse, a side hoping to push their way into the "big three" of Dutch football.
Annan has attracted attention from a whole host of clubs in the past and was quickly compared to Chelsea star and countryman Michael Essien for his tough-tackling energy-fuelled style of play.
The midfielder was a resounding success in Norwegian football and will be hoping to make his mark in Holland.
