Former Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon has claimed that it is Jose Mourinho and not Florentino Perez who is the club’s current president.

Calderon was dismayed by Mourinho’s actions during the recent Spanish Supercup against Barcelona, where the Portuguese appeared to poke Blaugrana assistant Tito Vilanova in the eye; Mourinho is facing a ban of up to 12 games for the incident.

And Calderon believes that Perez should have been at the forefront of Real Madrid’s response by saying such actions were not condoned by the club.

"Florentino should go to the press conference to say that the history of Real Madrid shows the club do not condone such acts", said Calderon, who has become a vocal critic of his successor.

And Calderon went on to claim that events have shown it is in fact Mourinho who is Real Madrid’s president.

"The president is Mourinho. The president did not come out in a situation where it was required for him to intervene."
