Serie A side Roma are weighing up a move for Real Madrid’s out-of-favour midfielder Fernando Gago.
The 25-year-old has no future at the Bernabeu and saw a proposed move to former club Boca Juniors break down after the Argentine side could not agree a fee with Real Madrid.
Gago remains keen to exit Jose Mourinho’s side though in search of first team football and would undoubtedly welcome a switch to Roma.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma boss Luis Enrique has identified Gago as a potential signing before the end of the transfer window.
The former Barcelona B boss still wants to add some much needed experience to his midfield.
Any deal though hinges on Real Madrid accepting what Roma deem to be a fair price for the player.
