Gervinho has expressed his disappointment at not being able to play alongside Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri at Arsenal this season.

The Ivorian signed at the Emirates hoping the pair would stay and form part of a new look Arsenal side with his involvement.

But Fabregas was quickly sold to Barcelona and, last week, Nasri followed the Spaniard out of the exit door, inking a contract with Manchester City.

And Gervinho was disappointed to see both midfielders leave the Emirates, knowing full well that the supply lines both could have provided him left with the duo.

"I would have liked to have played with Cesc and Samir", said Gervinho to RMC.

"I like to play with great players and it’s a shame.

"They left to join big clubs to try their luck elsewhere."

The 24-year-old though is holding out a sliver of hope that perhaps, at some time in the future, he will play with the pair.

"One day I hope to have the opportunity to play with them again", concluded Gervinho.
