Bolton Wanderers have been linked with a bid to sign Pedro Leon from Real Madrid before the transfer window closes.
Sources in Spain have confirmed the English club’s interest, but also reiterated that for the moment the midfielder is sticking to his stance of remaining at the Bernabeu.
Leon is well aware that he is surplus to requirements at Los Blancos and is unlikely to enjoy a substantial amount of time on the pitch in the forthcoming La Liga season – but for the moment the 24-year-old is refusing to move.
It remains to be seen whether Leon will continue to turn down the opportunity to leave Real Madrid and the clock is ticking for a potential switch.
And English Premier League side Bolton would love to be Leon’s destination, believing that the Spaniard would add real creativity and flair to their midfield.
Leon joined Real Madrid just last summer for €10M, but has found playing time difficult to come by under Mourinho and there has also been speculation the 24-year-old does not see eye-to-eye with the former Inter manager.
