Roma owner Thomas DiBenedetto has reiterated the club’s stance that the Giallorossi hope Daniele De Rossi remains at the Stadio Olimpico.

De Rossi is know to be on the radar of several teams, most notably Manchester United and Real Madrid, but he has yet to sign a new contract with Roma.

And speculation has naturally grown over the 28-year-old’s future.

“Daniele is Roman and 100% a Roma fan, a great player and one of real value to us”, Di Benedetto told Sky Sport

“We hope that he will keep on playing for Roma until the end of his career, but the final decision is his.”< DiBenedetto’s words confirm that the balance of power indeed lies with De Rossi and the midfielder is thought to be thinking hard over his options. Jose Mourinho would love the tough-tackling Roma icon at the Bernabeu, while he could also bring bite to Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United midfield. The Italy star has an important few months ahead of him and a big decision to make. Roma, rebuilding with DiBenedetto’s millions under coach Luis Enrique, hope he opts to stay.
